What is RPL for Tiling?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and Standards for RTOs 2025 — Outcome Standard 1.6. It allows you to have your existing tiling skills and knowledge formally assessed against the requirements of the CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling.
If you've been working as a tiler — in Australia or overseas — you may already have the skills required for a nationally recognised qualification. RPL maps your experience against the 20 units of the CPC31320. For any units where gaps are found, targeted gap training fills only those specific gaps. You don't repeat training you don't need.
The outcome is a complete CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling — the same nationally recognised qualification as one obtained through standard 52-week study. Issued by Wyatt Education Group, RTO 46003.

How CPC31320 RPL Works at Wyatt
1
Free Eligibility Consultation — No Obligation
Start with a conversation. Our team reviews your tiling work history, prior learning, and relevant experience against the CPC31320 units. We give you an honest answer about whether RPL is the right pathway — and what evidence you'll need to gather. No paperwork, no commitment at this stage.
2
Evidence Submission & Formal RPL Assessment
A qualified Wyatt assessor maps your evidence against the 20 units of CPC31320 — one unit at a time. Each unit is assessed independently and rigorously. You demonstrate competency through documentation and a structured assessor interview. Every unit deemed competent is signed off.
3
Integrated Gap Training — Only What You Need
Where gaps are identified, targeted training fills only those specific units — delivered in small groups at our Bankstown and Lidcombe campuses. Gap training is practical and efficient. You don't sit through content you already know. The gap training cost is included in your fixed $2,280 fee.
4
Qualification Issued — CPC31320 Certificate III
Once all 20 units are signed off as Competent, Wyatt Education Group issues your CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling — a complete, nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework. The same credential, regardless of pathway.

Skilled Migration & Tiling RPL
🌏
Wall & Floor Tiling — Skills Priority List
Wall and floor tiling is listed on Australia's Skills Priority List as a critically short occupation nationally. A CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling — whether obtained through standard study or RPL — is the same nationally recognised qualification. It may support a skilled migration visa application.
Important: RPL-based study may not satisfy the Australian Study Requirement for certain skilled migration pathways. Visa eligibility and PR outcomes depend on individual circumstances assessed by the Department of Home Affairs. We strongly recommend consulting a registered MARA migration agent for personalised advice before applying.

Gap training is targeted, practical training delivered for any units where your RPL assessment identifies a gap between your existing skills and the CPC31320 standard. The fixed $2,280 fee includes both the RPL assessment and all gap training required (up to 25% of units). You only attend training for the units you actually need — you don't repeat what you already know.
The RPL assessment process is largely evidence-based — you provide documentation of your existing skills. Gap training, where required, is delivered face-to-face in small groups at our Bankstown and Lidcombe campuses. The amount of face-to-face attendance depends on how many gap training units are identified in your assessment. Many experienced tilers require minimal gap training.
RPL is a genuine, evidence-based assessment — not a rubber stamp or a shortcut. It is conducted by a qualified assessor under the Standards for RTOs 2025 — Outcome Standard 1.6. Every unit of CPC31320 must be assessed individually. Where competency exists, it is recognised. Where gaps exist, training fills them. The result is a complete, nationally recognised CPC31320 Certificate III — the same qualification regardless of how it was obtained.
